2025 Steck Family Award

The Deans’, Chancellor’s, and Steck Family Awards wish to encourage and stimulate outstanding scholarship and creativity among undergraduate students, based on work developed in courses or programs in the normal pattern of academic activity at UCSC. The Steck Family Award recognizes the most outstanding senior research project chosen from 15 Chancellor Awards projects.

The undergraduate with the winning thesis/research project for the Steck Award received a $2000 award and their research project was bound. Copies were given to the student, the research mentor(s), the UC Santa Cruz Library, and the Steck Family whose generous contributions made this award possible. In addition, the mentor of the winning project recieved a $1000 award. The recipient(s) and mentor(s) were honored at the Chancellor's Undergraduate Award Luncheon during Student Acheivement Week.
